Opportunity to attend Regional PIC Symposium
Saturday, April 22, 2017

Good morning,

There will be a Regional Parent Involvement Committee Symposium in Ottawa on Saturday, April 22.  This full day event (9 am - 4 pm) is being organized by the Ministry of Education Parent Engagement Office and will be held near the Ottawa airport.  It will include PIC and school council members from all school boards in eastern Ontario.

This event offers you an opportunity to make new connections, learn from others and share best practices.  These FREE sessions are always well organized, offering great speakers, opportunities for networking, lunch and more!  It will be a great day!

There are a few seats remaining and thus an opportunity to offer attendance to a few more OCSB school council members.  These are being made available on a first come, first served basis.

If interested in attending, please email PIC Chair, Laura Cater:
Please feel free to pass this invitation on to interested members of your school council.

Here is some additional information from the Ministry of Education:

As parents, you already know that when you are involved in your children's education, the entire school community benefits.  Attending a PIC symposium is a great way for parents to network and share ideas to support parent engagement.

You will have the opportunity to learn about effective practices and be inspired by other parents. You can also share practical materials, tips and strategies that will support your ongoing efforts to enhance parent engagement in your  school board and community.

Hope you can join us.
