Our Family of Schools

We are an elementary school offering grades JK-6.

After grade 6, our students attend St. Patrick's High School.

School Day Schedule — Grades 1-6

Gates will be opened at 9 am.

Kindergarten students will make their way to their classrooms where they will be greeted by their Educators.

Grade 1-6 students will play in the back school yard and will be supervised by Educators.


Morning Bell Rings at 9:15 am (Gates will be closed) (Late Arrivals will need to sign in at the Office)

Block 1: 9:15-10:30

Recess 10:30-10:45

Block 2: 10:45-12:00

Lunch 12:00-1:00

(40 mins outdoor and 20 mins eat)

Block 3: 1:00-2:15

Recess 2:15-2:30

Block 4: 2:30-3:45

Dismissal is at 3:45 pm at the gates.


The Ottawa Catholic Child Care Corporation operates a licensed child care program in our school with before and after school spaces for children 4-12 years. There is also a Preschool program for children 2.5-4 years. Visit Heron Gate School Age Program for more information.

Our school also houses an EarlyON Child and Family Centre, offering free programs for families and caregivers with children 0 to 6 years old. Visit the EarlyON Centre to:

  • Learn and play with your child

  • Connect with families in your community

  • Access information, resources and referrals from early childhood professionals

  • Discuss topics such as play-based learning, child development, school readiness, parenting and community services

The Centre is open weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. during the school year. We are closed on school PD days.
